Aristidis M. Tsatsakis, PhD, ERT, DSc, FATS, DHonC, HonProf, FMRAS, FMWAS

Professor Tsatsakis is the Director of the Department of Toxicology and Forensic Sciences of the Medical School at the University of Crete and the University Hospital of Heraklion. He was EUROTOX President-Elect in 2012, and served as President (2014–2016) of the Federation of European Toxicologists and European Societies of Toxicology (EUROTOX), was “Highly Cited Researcher” for the years 2020 and 2021, in the field of Pharmacology – Toxicology by Clarivate Analytics (Web of Science) and has over 1,000 publications, 37,000 citations and a current IF index of 88 (GS) and 71 (Web of Science). Recently, he was honored with the EUROTOX Merit Award 2022 for his significant contribution to the advancement of the field of Toxicology in Europe and worldwide.

Jose L. Domingo was born in Tortosa, Catalonia, in 1951. He obtained his PhD in Toxicology at the Universitat de Barcelona in 1982. He became Full Professor of Toxicology at the University of Barcelona in 1991, and at the Universitat “Rovira i Virgili” (Tarragona/Reus), School of Medicine, in 1993. He is currently Emeritus Professor of Toxicology and Environmental Health at the same Center and University. Prof. Jose L. Domingo was Associate Visiting Professor at the School of Hygiene and Public Health, The Johns Hopkins University (Baltimore, MD, USA; 1987) and spent short sabbatical periods at Vanderbilt University (Nashville, TN, USA), the University of Arizona (Tucson, AZ, USA), and the University of California at Davis (USA). In 2006, he was appointed Distinguished Professor by the Universitat “Rovira i Virgili”. His research has been mainly focused on human health risk assessment of a number of environmental pollutants, including emerging contaminants. Risk of food contaminants is another important issue of his interest.
Prof. Jose L. Domingo is founder and director of the Laboratory of Toxicology and Environmental Health and Tecnatox . He is author or co-author of 737 papers (Scopus) published in international peer-reviewed journals. According to Google Scholar, these papers mean over 38,000 citations with a current h-index of 97. He has managed an important number of projects for public administrations and private companies. He has directed more than 40 PhD theses, is a Highly Cited Researcher and he was also recognized as an Expertscape World Expert in Food Safety. Prof. Jose L. Domingo belongs to various international scientific societies such as the Society of Toxicology USA, EUROTOX etc.
