Gut microbiota (the community of microorganisms throughout the gastrointestinal tract) have been recently associated with symptoms of anxiety and depressive disorders leading to significant research interest. This presentation will focus on the findings of recent related studies that attempt to elucidate the pathophsyciological mechanisms that are implicated and propose directions for future research.
